A young New Rover 1st team face Yorkshire champions, Castleford

The report

After having won the toss and electing to bat, New Rover made a very impressive start to the match. They made 39 before Kian Lemmer was caught from a ball off Eddie Morrison. However before they could make 70 they had lost 5 wickets and were all out for a total of 100. But, it was always going to be difficult playing the county champions.

In the bowling side of the game New Rover gave all they could and they did get a wicket to show for it, belonging to Mack Hall in the form of an LBW. It was inevitable that Castleford were going to win but New Rover proved they could compete even without their full strength team and it's clear lots of the young players can certainly aspire to regular 1st team selection.
